Dogwood Trailblazers Baxter Civil War Walk

Walk in Baxter Springs is mostly along residential streets and is highlighted by Fort Blair and several Civil War historical markers scattered along the walk.
Location: 7037 SE Hwy. 66, Riverton, KS. Historic Rt. 66 From I-44 exit #1 (west of Joplin MO) onto Hwy 166 west to MO Hwy 26 north. Go north to Historic Rt 66. Turn left (west) to Quik Stop on the right at the only stop light in Riverton. A drive of approximately 6 miles is required to reach the walk start at the Baxter Springs museum. Restrooms available at registration point and at the walk start if during museum operating hours.
